Today is Black Friday and I wouldn’t be surprised if you are now ready to (finally) hit the check-out button and enjoy free shipping!
Truly, I am excited for you!
Meanwhile, I just finished two days of making new fashion accessories, including a few beadings and crocheting, and I am excited to show them off with my latest ensembles.
I also recently finished the latest Netflix documentary “Buy Now! The Shopping Conspiracy” and how businesses and marketers play tricks on us to keep buying more until our own space looks like one of the episodes of The Hoarders.
This documentary along with many other related documentaries from years ago is a good reminder for us to be mindful of our shopping habits and how they can affect us personally.
My online shopping cart hasn’t been checked out for months, and every now and then I revisit it and see if I still need those items in my cart, or I just delete them. Delayed gratification works for me and so far, this shopping habit keeps me on my toes.
If I need something new, I revisit my closet and look for a couple of pieces that I could rehash or upcycle into something fun that I would continuously love.
Just like this pair of old pants that I upcycled a couple of years ago in which I added more Woolies fixems on it.
I also have this knitted Gray-Nicolls jumper that I bought from the local op shop two years ago and still love it. Even my handbag and Converse shoes are also secondhand, and I reckon the only brand new that I bought are these hair accessories which I bought from a local shop.
This is the reason why I am not a good customer for Black Friday deals!
I mowed my lawn after this photoshoot, hahaha.
What do you think of this look?
Enjoy your weekend and happy shopping!
