Same as what I am thinking about this awesome newly opened footbridge called Runway Manila.
Located at the back of Belmont Hotel in Pasay near Marriott Hotel, Runway Manila is one of those projects under the government’s Public Private Partnership, and this in collaboration with Travelers International Hotel Group Inc.
This 200-meter pedestrian footbridge is beautifully designed and am telling you it is very hard to pay a quick pause. This projects which costs Php1.5 billion is the very first in the Philippines. It connects the NAIA Terminal 3 and Newport City, which is very advantageous to all travelers, cutting the travel time (and costs) from travelling all the way to Terminal 3.
This footbridge is well equipped with LED signage to welcome the travelers and also for advertising purposes. It also has CCTV cameras, and guards for security purposes. And above all the footbridge is fully air-conditioned. It is designed to accommodate more than 200,000 guests per day, operating 24/7.
It is also equipped with elevators and ‘walkalators’, something that is very new to Philippine infrastructures. They also have security scanners upon entering the both ends of Runway Manila.
Runway Manila also offers a complimentary use of their golf carts exclusively use for pregnant women, PWDs, senior citizens and guests with infants and toddlers.
I instantly visualized a bespoke runway show with the prestigious Filipino designers showcasing their couture designs for the whole world to see. This could be a perfect venue! An inspiration from the recent Louis Vuitton Runway Show in Japan for their 2018 Cruise Collection.
As you can see in these photos, the whole facilities are very spacious and very clean. We’ve visited this place around 5:00PM were we are so blessed to captured these beautiful view of the whole facilities and the view outside.
As a traveler, I’m one of those who got so excite with this project. Travelling to NAIA Airport is a hell especially when you get stuck on a traffic, which also translate higher costs for your taxi fare. Since I’m based in Bonifacio Global City, my best option will be travelling via C5 Road to Newport City, then use Runway Manila for me to reach NAIA Terminal 3 which is only less than 10minutes walk, compared to the usual travel going around the airport road.
And for more convenience, you can opt to stay at hotel within Newport City like Marriott Manila, Belmont Hotel, etc. then cross to NAIA Terminal 3 using Runway Manila. You can also hangout first at Resorts World Manila or any entertainment centers in Newport City while waiting for your flight!
Don’t worry of feeling lost because there is a map that will guide you if you will decide to stay at Newport City.
