How to Shop Wisely and Earn Points with Penshoppe App

Last Saturday was an exciting day for me.

I’ve finished my blog posts and scheduled for the next 2-months (yeah!) but still have many stories waiting for me to touch up – they are all right in front of me.

But I wasn’t feeling in the mood to write.

So I decided to visit SM Aura Premier for my weekly supermarket shopping, and to gather inspiration so when I get back home, am ready to work again.

Maybe for some, supermarket shopping is a complete buzz killer, but for me, it is my opportunity to reboot, and wonder like a kid checking the chocolate stalls which I know I won’t bother buying, LOL.

But this story will not focus on grocery shopping.

This story is about something else that am sure the frugal fashion ladies and gents out there will pay attention to.

So I went to SM Aura Premier visited the Penshoppe store when I’ve found out that I still have those gift certificates that were given to me as gifts last year.

Penshoppe is a global Filipino lifestyle brand that has gained its name internationally, thanks to the continued support of its customers worldwide, especially by the Filipinos. And having

international brand ambassadors like Gigi Hadid, Dara Park, etc. makes Penshoppe’s presence in the international market more fruitful.

Okay, wondering if those gift certificates are already expired (yeah because most gift certificates have an expiration, which is actually against the law – and I’ll make a separate post about it soon!), I took a chance of visiting Penshoppe and inquire if my gift certificates are still valid.

With the help of their super accommodating Manager (sorry, am not good with names!) he told me that my gift certificates worth Php1,000 are STILL VALID.

Hhhooooorraayyy!

That’s awesome, and I felt relieved.

You see, I have tons of gift certificates that I forgot to use because I forgot I have them.
(I wish there’s an app to help me remind of my gift cheques, lol).

However, no worries because the gift cheques are still valid. The question is:

WHAT WILL I BUY AT PENSHOPPE STORE???????

I decided to roam around the store and checked the clothes and accessories they have. Though honestly, I admit I got a little hard time picking which pieces I will get. My personal style is quite contrasting to what they have, so for me, it’s quite a challenge.

And I don’t have time to visit another Penshoppe store just to look for other clothes.

So yeah, I have to be patient and fingers-crossed.

Anyway, I was expecting that I will only get one (1) piece for my gift certificates.

But I took three (3) pieces that I thought are cute and functional enough for my needs.

I’ve got these pairs of embroidered slip-on (SRP Php499), pairs of denim loafers (SRP699), and this backpack (SRP Php699).

As I’m at the counter and about to pay my damages and looking for my reliable credit card, Mr. Cashier told me that my bill is only Php1,057.00

What?!!! What kind of sorcery is this??!!!

He said that they are currently in a mid-year sale and most of their products are on huge discounts.
OMG, what perfect timing!

Then Mr. Cashier asks me if I have a Penshoppe app because I could get an additional 10% discount.

OMG, that’s cool! I panicked a bit because I don’t have it, LOL

That’s still a 10% discount and a frugal me that is a big deal.

But surprisingly I let it pass, and told Mr. Cashier that I don’t have it yet, hahaha and he told me that I should download it to gain rewards and points every time I would shop in Penshoppe stores.

The total damage is Php1,057.00 but I only cash out Php57.00 and that’s cool!

And back to my very awesome shopping finds, here’s what I’ve got:

I find these black leather and embroidered slip-ons very cute and very traditional. Also, the embroidery is so feminine and I love it! This slip-on reminds me of Dolce & Gabbana Spring Summer 2015 collection so I didn’t hesitate to grab it. Gladly they have my size!

Actually, the price is Php499.00 – no discount

Next, I’ve got these embroidered denim loafers which remind me of the Chiara Ferragni shoe collection. They are so comfortable to my feet and I bet I will use this more especially I love to walk!

You might be asked why I got this “beer and pizza” embroidery and you might also assume that I am that kind of person – sorry babes!

The “beer and pizza” actually reminds me more of my Amore, so I am happy to buy them. 

Am a sweet girlfriend, you know!

The actual price is Php699 and dropped to Php229.00

And finally, I’ve got this cute backpack – it is functional and lightweight, and the colors remind me of vacation! They also have place black which is very ordinary, and other colors like green, red, etc.

The regular price is Php699.00 and dropped to Php329.00

Isn’t it great discounts?!!!

And when I was trying to create my flat lay photo, I realized that the items I’ve got are perfect for my travel to Malaysia very soon!

Ohh my lord, what perfect timing!

I’ll keep my Penshoppe app for my emergency street outfit shopping, and I love collection points!
