I tried Restylane and it Changed my Life

BEAUTY REVIEW: Yes, it’s possible to see immediate results - a kind of instant ‘facelift’ - with the Restylane, a Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Filler

Anyone who knows me, knows I’m not a major fan of aesthetic procedures. I haven’t tried any of it - lasers, peels, Exilis, Thermage, Ulthera, Botox, etc. because of a very simple reason – I don’t like needles. I’ve researched online and also spoke with some aesthetic doctors about the beauty and benefits of undergoing these procedures; still I always back-off. However although many of these treatments have visible results more quickly than say, using creams, (I’ve witness some of my friends who does, and I’m amazed too with the results to them) they aren’t immediate. Most need at least a month before you see any real difference in the quality of your skin.

I believe that all of us – especially women have all the right to be beautiful, feel and look good.
And I admit I felt so excited, a little scared (laugh) when Galderma Philippines team invited me and the other bloggers for the exclusive launch of Restylane here in the Philippines. I’ve got the chance to meet Mr. Abet Tanuario, RPH - Galderma Philippines, Sales and Marketing Manager for Aesthetic and Corrective Business; Dr. Sidney Cu, Medical Director for Levie Lifestyle Clinic; and the rest of Galderma Philippines Aesthetic team at the dinner launched last month at Acarama.

So for most of you still wondering, What is Restylane?

Restylane is a transparent FDA-approved hyaluronic acid gel used to smooth facial lines and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. It is made in Sweden and closely resembles our body’s own hyaluronic acid, which reduces the risks of allergic reactions. The form of hyaluronic acid used in this product, NASHA (short for Non-Animal Stabilised Hyaluronic Acid), is said to have molecules that are “similar enough to the skin’s own to be accepted by the body but have a dramatically longer shelf life allowing for much longer hydration in the skin.” Restylane offers long-lasting results which have been clinically proven safe.

So together with Shen (blogger for shenaddiction.com) we bravely tried the Restylane fillers for my chin and some Restylane fillers for her both cheeks.

What are the benefits of Restylane Fillers?

Face contouring and volumizing – Restylane fillers restore the fullness of the lips, cheeks, nose, jawline, and chin while also helping to correct facial asymmetries and restore contours that may have softened over time, resulting in more refined features and facial contour.

So while the others are having dinner, we had this mini-Restylane party!

Yeah, Me and Shen had bravely say yes to tried and experience Restylane.

In the sure hands of Dr. Sidney Cu from Levie Lifestyle Clinic I felt perfectly comfortable undergoing the Restylane fillers treatment. After washing off my make-up and have a clean face, Dr. Cu applied some numbing cream, a usual practice for just about all non-invasive aesthetic treatments, and I sit comfortably (while I have some bite of my dinner, haha) for about 30minutes.

While waiting Dr. Cu begins treatment with Shen’s cheeks. I felt like we are in the set of Real Housewives series, having a dinner party while having Restylane treatments.

In my experience, Restylane fillers treatment is practically painless, Shen also agrees. I tell you that waxing is way more painful than this. Dr. Cu used 2ml of Restylane fillers for my chin to make it more prominent.

After 30 minutes of session, I saw the instant difference of my before chin. I felt so happy with the result – a painless procedure that gives instant beauty.

Are there any side-effects for Restylane?

Restylane is very safe and seldom produces severe side-effects. The most common post-treatment reaction is slight skin redness, swelling, itching, bruising or slight pain and tenderness. These reactions usually disappear shortly after each injection.

In my case, I never experienced any of these side-effects, except for the tenderness that I felt on the injected area, which only last for 2 hours. I’ve seen the difference and result after 30 minutes upon treatment, my chin becomes more prominent and I feel more beautiful. It’s a very liberating experience and I like it.

How long does a Restylane treatment last?
It is long-lasting but not permanent. So after initial treatment, follow-up sessions are normally recommended. Restylane can last up to 36 months with just two re-treatments.

What do Restylane treatments involve?

The treatment applies the following procedures:
A. Restylane is injected into the skin and takes about 15 to 30 minutes for full efficacy. It does not affect your facial expression after the treatment.
B. For the first 2 weeks following your treatment avoid exposure to excessive heat like saunas and hot springs.

Do I need to stay at home and rest after the treatment?

Restylane treatments involve very minimal downtime. You can actually resume your normal activities right after the treatment.

Who is qualified to administer Restylane treatments?

Medically qualified health professionals, including plastic surgeons, dermatologists and cosmetic physicians are qualified to administer Restylane treatments.

About a month later and I’m still seeing the results; the prominence of chin in particular is much improved, that makes my selfie photos more cuter 
